Do you remember the brilliant Unspun yarn from Raincloud & Sage that sold out in just a few days last year? A wonderfully soft roving of outstanding quality that has thrilled many of you. Now we proudly present our new partner: Soil Yarn! Behind Soil Yarn are Marten and Simone, who live with their two sons and some sheep on an old farm near Bremen in northern Germany. Marten has been part of the yarn label Raincloud & Sage for the past few years and was a co-founder of the company. With Soil Yarn they are embarking on a new adventure in the world of wool, with the focus on sustainable wool. They produce yarns for creative minds from unused wool that would otherwise end up in landfills. To do this, they buy freshly shorn wool from small sheep farms and have it processed into beautiful yarns in a spinning mill in Germany. Transparency and locality are key at Soil Yarn, and when they source specific wool from sustainable sources in neighboring European countries, they always mark this. We are incredibly pleased to be adding these high-quality and sustainable yarns from Soil Yarn to our range!
